Genshin Impact Dandelion seeds are one of Mondstadt specialties, and have multiple uses – outside of the Dawn Winery’s popular dandelion wine (you’ve just got to try it, I hear). You need them to complete certain quests, commissions, and requests, and they’re both ascension and crafting materials for specific items and characters. So, pretty handy. But how do you farm them? Well, grab an anemo pal, and let’s go for a spin!

How do I get dandelion seeds in Genshin Impact?
Described as ‘a tiny seed that rides on the wind. Even without its feathered wings, it still holds the hope from afar within’, you can find dandelion seeds dotted around Mondstadt, with quite a few clustered together just outside the city gates. In order to harvest dandelion seeds, you need to use an anemo attack, then grab them as they’re floating in the air.
There are 53 dandelion seed locations, and they tend to respawn roughly every 48 hours. Here are all the spawn locations, so you know where to go if you’re looking for the best spots to farm Genshin Impact dandelion seeds.
Starfell Valley
Windwail Highland
Galesong Hill
If you’re still having trouble locating them and you have Genshin Impact’s Klee, adding her to your party is a great idea. Klee has the ability to locate Mondstadt specialties, which are marked by a small hand icon on your map if they’re nearby. Check out our Genshin Impact icons guide to find out more about this nifty feature, and which other characters have it.
What are Genshin Impact dandelion seeds used for?
A few Mondstadt quests, commissions, and requests require a certain amount of dandelion seeds. For example, during the Whisper in the Wind commission, you need to give Glory dandelion seeds, then scatter them from the top of the Anemo Archon statue.
Dandelion seeds are also used in these crafting recipes.
- Gushing Essential Oil – a consumable item that increases all party members’ Anemo damage by 25% for 300 seconds
- Windbarrier Potion – a consumable item that boosts your party members’ anemo resistance, enabling them to withstand strong winds
- Oculus Resonance Stone – a gadget that helps you locate uncollected Anemoculi
On top of this, dandelion seeds are required to ascend the following characters.
