Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is here, and this sprawling, dense RPG is set to suck hundreds of hours out of you. With the massive and complex Xenoblade Chronicles 3 combat and the long list of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 characters, there’s just so much to discover.
Well, Monolith Soft thinks that’s not enough, and decided to introduce a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC expansion pass for even more stuff. At launch, we got access to extra items, but now there are new Xenoblade Chronicles 3 heroes, and soon a whole new story segment to boot. So head downstairs article-wise to find out all the goodies therein, or head to our history lesson on Xenoblade Chronicles’ Operation Rainfall fan movement to see how the series became so popular.

Anyway, here’s our Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC expansion pass overview:
The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass is coming in four volumes. The first three volumes are out now. You can find more Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC info below, including the new outfits for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Noah and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Mio.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC expansion pass wave one
The first volume of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC launched on release day, and brought “items to support your adventure”, all of which you can find below. You can find all the consumables and accessories in-game without the expansion pass, it just gives you them for free without searching for them.
- Consumable items: Nopon coin (silver) x30, Nopon coin (Gold) x10
- Accessories: iron temple guard, circlet of wisdom, silver belt, auto-balancer, glass memory, Nopon strap
- Outfit colour variants
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass wave two
The second volume of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC launched on October 14, 2022. As part of the second helping of DLC, the new mechanical character, Ino arrived in the game with a fresh quest. There’s also the introduction of new challenge battles, with waves of enemies to fight as you try and claim the rewards up for grabs.
On October 11, the official Japanese Twitter dropped a bomb – albeit an extremely fluffy, adorable one – confirming that the much loved Nopon Archsage from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is reprising his role, taking charge of Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s Challenge Battles. We can’t wait to see this little cutie back in action!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass volume three
The third volume of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC launched on February 15 and brings new roguelike battles, alongside a brand new hero, Masha. We saw very little of her in the direct, though she is Lapidarist Extraordinaire, a.k.a. big fan of jewels.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass wave four
The fourth volume of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC launches on April 26, 2023. In a recent Nintendo Direct, we saw a teaser showing Shulk and Alvis, though it’s not completely clear what is occurring.
Luckily, we got more context in a brand new trailer, as well as the expansion’s name and release date. This new original story features strange versions of Shulk and Rex, as well as a fella called Matthew who sure looks like Noah.
Nintendo’s Genki Yokota recently said, “we will be adding a new story at the end of the expansion pass, and we are thinking of making its volume of content as large as Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country.
“We hope that those who enjoyed that content, as well as newcomers, will pick it up. It will be quite a high volume of content that will not let you down… I’m talking about the volume again.”
If it’s anything like Torna or Future Connected, the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC will be a massive thirty-hour game in and of itself. Heck yeah. You can read more about the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 developer interviews to see everything revealed.
That’s all the info we’ve got on the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass, but I’m sure we’ll get more in the future, so keep your eyes peeled.
