A new season in Second Dinner’s superhero card game means a new card, and Marvel Snap’s Hit Monkey is locked, loaded, and ready to swing into battle. With an effect that takes advantage of playing as many cards in a single turn as possible, Hit Monkey is a boon for bounce decks, teaming up with Beast to make a deck you can’t keep up with.
If you don’t know, Hit Monkey is one of the more obscure comic book characters to enter the Marvel Snap fray, with the pistol-whipping primate’s main appearance in a battle against Deadpool and Spiderman. Still, Hit Monkey is more than capable of making up for his few appearances in the comics by arriving alongside a cohort of other animal pals in the Animals Assemble season.
There are a few options for Hit Monkey in Marvel Snap decks, but the best call is to work the assassin into a bounce deck. Hit Monkey’s effect adds two power for every other card you play that turn, and if you’ve already played Beast, you can drop an entire handful of one and zero-cost cards to boost Hit Monkey up to ten-plus power. That puts the killer monkey at a higher power than Abomination, She-Hulk, and America Chavez.
If you want to add Hit Monkey to your roster, you need to cough up the $9.99/£9.99 for the season pass. Still, with the price of individual gold packs in Marvel Snap, the season pass option is one of the best ways of getting some bang for your buck, with not only Hit Monkey on offer, but plenty of gold, credits, variants, and boosters too. Oh, and there’s a Cosmo cardback which might be the cutest thing I’ve seen in my life.
