Perkins&Will recently announced the elevation of Canadian architect Susan Gushe to a global role as chief operating officer.

Since 2012, Gushe has been the managing director of the Vancouver branch of Perkins&Will, where she aimed to make positive change for people in the profession.

Gushe promoted policies and initiatives that focused on the improvement of the culture of architecture while also keeping balance and respect a focus.

She built a balanced team to form a strong leadership group; a dynamic which helped to create a supportive workplace culture.

“Over the last decade, it’s been so rewarding to see our teams thrive in pursuit of Living Design. As I embark on this next chapter of my career, I’m looking forward to bringing the lessons I’ve learned at the local and regional leadership levels to the entire firm. My goal is to ensure our global operations run optimally for the benefit of our clients, and for the betterment of our practice, communities, and planet,” said Gushe.

Along with this announcement, Perkins&Will also welcomed Derek Newby as their new managing director of the Vancouver and Calgary studios.
