Submissions for 2019 RAIC Awards close this month
Architects are invited to submit projects for the RAIC’s 2019 awards program. They may enter their work or nominate a colleague or leader in the profession to be recognized for contributions to the built environment. The awards honour a wide range of achievements in the architectural profession.
Submissions are now open for the following 2019 awards:
Awards of Excellence – Submission deadline, January 29, 2019.
The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) issues a call for submissions every two years for its Awards of Excellence:
Architectural Firm Award — Submission deadline, January 17, 2019.
The award recognizes the achievements of the firm for its quality of architecture, its service to its clients, its innovations in practice, contributions to architectural education and to professional institutions and associations and public recognition.
Emerging Architectural Practice Award — Submission deadline, January 17, 2019
This award is to recognize the principals of an emerging architectural practice that has consistently produced distinguished architecture. The award recognizes the achievements of the principals for the quality of their built work, service to their clients, innovations in practice and public recognition.
Prix du XXe siècle — Submission deadline, January 17, 2019
The Prix du XXe Siècle recognizes buildings over 25 years old that have become landmarks of Canadian architecture. The prize celebrates design quality as well as enduring excellence, recognizing the design of the original architect and/or firm as well as the on-going stewardship of the owner of the building.
Young Architect Award — Submission deadline, January 17, 2019.
This award is to recognize a young architect for excellence in design, leadership and/or service to the profession. It is intended that this award will inspire other young architects to become licensed and to strive for excellence in their work.
RAIC Gold Medal — Submission deadline, January 17, 2019.
The RAIC’s Gold Medal is the highest honour that it can bestow in recognition of a significant and lasting contribution to Canadian architecture and is not to be construed as a competition. The terms of reference set forth here outline the process of selection to be used to identify the recipient of this honour.
