How do I use Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ingredients?
You can use ingredients in a few ways. The first, and easiest, is to open your inventory, hold an item, drop it into a cooking pot, and cook up a delicious meal. You can hold up to five items at a time, so the list of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom recipes is quite long. You can attach ingredients to arrows, drop them by a fire to roast them, or place them on the floor to feed an animal as well.
Rare Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ingredients
Here are some of the rarest and best items to hunt down in Tears of the Kingdom.
Blue nightshade location TotK
Blue nightshade grows all around Hyrule’s fields and is easier to spot at night, as it glows bright blue. It’s an integral ingredient for making stealthy meals and elixirs, allowing you to sneak around without getting seen.
Sunset fireflies location TotK
These pesky bugs appear at night amongst trees and by ponds, and are easy to see thanks to their bright green glow. They are, however, hard to catch – we recommend a stealth-boosting meal or armor and crouch walking towards them. Beedle also sells a handful of fireflies.
Bladed rhino beetle location TotK
Bugs aren’t the most common spawns in Tears of the Kingdom and they’re easy to miss as they hide on tree trunks. The Bladed rhino beetle provides a hefty attack buff when cooked into an elixir, and the best place to find them is the forest along the Floria River.
Mighty thistle location TotK
Ah, the mighty thistle. Cook this into a dish and it’ll really boost your attack, meaning you can easily beat those big bosses. The thistles grow in the Faron region’s woods, around the Tabantha Frontier hills, and across the Necluda region.
Hearty truffle location TotK
Don’t ignore the hearty truffles. Though they grow in caves all across Hyrule, near the abundant brightblooms and brightcap mushrooms, they’re way more helpful. Cooking these truffles, even one by itself, creates a meal that adds extra yellow hearts on top of your maximum amount – and heal all of your hearts at the same time.
Sticky frogs location TotK
Are you sick of sliding down wet cliff faces? Well, worry no more – sticky frogs are here to help! One of the numerous quality-of-life additions to Tears of the Kingdom is this new amphibian that provides slip resistance when cooked into an elixir. Look for these snazzy red and blue frogs on walls and cliff sides, close to head height, in the wetland regions of Hyrule.
Hearty radish location TotK
Though fairly plentiful in Breath of the Wild, it seems that the hearty radish population has also fallen victim to the gloom. Now, the radishes – both big and regular – grow only on some sky islands in amongst the archipelagos across the map. We suggest hunting them down, though, as they completely refill your hearts and add extra yellow ones when cooked.
Endura shrooms location TotK
Everyone needs a healthy supply of stamina-filling items, and there’s nothing better than the endura shrooms that provide an extra wheel of yellow stamina when cooked. These orange and purple mushies grow on various islands in the sky, usually above the Lanayru and Gerudo regions.
Fairies location TotK
Your previous Zelda knowledge may tell you to head straight to a Great Fairy Fountain to catch some fairies, but this won’t get you far in Tears of the Kingdom. It appears the Great Fairies forgot to take their floating pals with them. They’re now found inside caves or near springs on sky islands. Crouch walk towards them and you can catch a few at each spot. We recommend that you don’t cook them and leave them in your inventory, as they revive you if you fall in battle.
Sundelions location TotK
These fancy-looking flowers provide a healing effect for hearts damaged by gloom when you’re in the depths, or fighting gloom-ridden enemies, such as the dreaded hands. They grow on sky islands, or near debris dropped to the surface.
Your Purah Pad sensor+ can easily locate these items for you, just follow the beeps and get collecting – as long as you’ve got a picture of your targeted item in the compendium.
