Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s launch has posted the biggest physical sales of the year in the UK, beating out FIFA 23, and becoming the second-biggest Pokémon launch after Sun & Moon, in terms of units sold. In terms of actual revenue, S&V is the biggest in the series’ history, given the higher price compared to S&M.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, alongside info from GfK, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s launch is the biggest of the year in the UK, in terms of physical copies sold. Digital sales are not available for Nintendo games. Violet accounted for 52% of the sales, Scarlet accounted for 42%, and the double pack 6%.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s launch has also helped drive hardware sales for Nintendo. Nintendo Switch hardware sales rose 62% week-on-week, making it one of the biggest weeks of the year for the company. You can check out the full chart from GfK below.
