There’s one thing gamers all love, and that’s collecting things. Well, the folks over at Lost in Cult know this and are happy to deliver high-quality quarterly gaming journals to the masses, with a strong focus on interesting articles and stellar unique artwork for each piece. Hot on the heels of the success of both volume 004 and A Handheld History in conjunction with Retro Dodo, Lost in Cult has just launched the crowdfunding campaign for [lock-on] 005, and it could be the best issue yet.
Both versions of the journal impress with an arresting softcover featuring artwork from the horror game Scorn, and a beautiful hardcover illustration based on The Last of Us by Jake Kontou who designed the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection box art. For handheld gamers, this issue features articles on Tunic, Poinpy, and an insightful piece on Splatoon featuring some standout voices from the Nintendo community.
An article reveal from Lost In Cult tells us all about the Splatoon piece. “Perhaps the crowning achievement of Nintendo’s modern era, Splatoon captivated an entire community in harmonious alignment with the sadly misunderstood Wii U system. Abram Buehner is joined by Kit Ellis, Krysta Yang, RogersBase, Jonathan Holmes, and the Pretendo Network on a jaunt through this jovial, expressive world of ink. Brought to life by Big Sky Castle’s whimsical illustrations, this feature will recontextualise Nintendo’s breakthrough shooter series.”
