A cel-shaded action adventure that explores Bayonetta’s early years as Cereza, gamers can now explore the Umbra Witch’s childhood with this cute new title. Taking on a top-down camera angle and introducing an adorable demon friend to tag along with the witch, this certainly looks like a new take on Bayo, and we can’t wait to see more.

When is the Bayonetta Origins release date?
This isn’t another Bayonetta 3 folks! Geoff revealed at The Game Awards, that Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon releases on March 17, 2023, so eager action fans don’t have long to wait to see the Umbra Witch again.
What is Bayonetta Origins’ story?
In Bayonetta Origins, you get to play as the Umbra Witch during her childhood years as Cereza, during which time she serves as a young apprentice witch. However, the young girl’s world is turned upside down when she must venture into the perilous forbidden forest in order to gain the power to save her mother.
Luckily, she doesn’t have to tackle this journey alone as Cheshire, her infernal demon partner, is along for the ride.
Bayonetta Origins gameplay
From the trailer, it’s clear to see that there’s a slightly different approach to the trilogy as it features a top-down camera style. Furthermore, it’s unclear just how brutal the combat is likely to be. However, we do know that puzzles play a prominent part and exploration is crucial to succeeding on this quest.
