Apparently, 2023 is the year of new word games, as the Qwert release date is upon us. This quirky, typewriter-themed language game from indie studio Karate Possum Games is vying for a spot among the best games like Wordle (and in all of our daily routines).
Instead of asking you to guess a specific word or solve an anagram, Qwert encourages creativity by asking you to think of as many words that fit a given prompt as possible. You can celebrate your success by sharing your high scores or by using the dedicated horn button. What other word games have horns? We can’t think of any.
Qwert features a range of game modes including fast-paced PvP action in Time Attack and Wordplay, and a single-player survival mode called Splat where you must defend yourself from the oncoming swarm of flying letters. You can show off your personal style with customizable keyboard skins and keep track of your best-scoring words using the dictionary function.
