The internet has once again provided us with a piece of bizarre content that we can almost guarantee nobody asked for. The Rovio team uploaded an Angry Birds smash or pass video to the game’s official TikTok page that shows main character Red rating popular video game characters based on whether or not he would sleep with them.
This genre of video isn’t new, with popular gaming YouTubers like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye making similar videos on their channels rating all the Pokémon in the Pokédex or every single animatronic in the FNAF franchise. That being said, we didn’t imagine the poster bird for a mobile game would join the long list of content creators jumping on the trend.
The TikTok has garnered over 500k likes in three days, and over 16k comments. Many commenters have expressed their confusion over the video, either judging Red’s choice in fictional heroes or simply asking why this video exists. The TikTok also suggests that Red is into people (or videogame characters) of multiple genders, leading Gayming Mag to comment, “This is everything”.
While the Angry Birds franchise appeals to a wide range of gamers from different generations, the movie adaptations, YouTube cartoons, and lines of toys suggest that Rovio is targeting a younger demographic. This has led to some concern that the video might unintentionally expose young children to inappropriate content.
That’s everything we’ve got on the Angry Birds smash or pass video. We’ve got an article on Sega’s recent acquisition of Rovio for you to check out next, or a list of all the Angry Birds characters.
