An Octopath Traveler stream is coming next month to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Square Enix’s eight-legged adventure and one of the best Switch RPGs. While we’re not expecting any big news, especially so shortly after a Nintendo Direct, it’s still worth tuning in for all the developer commentary and potential Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent news.
With Square Enix producer Masashi Takahashi on hand to help deliver the stream, we’re looking forward to hearing more about the engaging lore and design behind the Octopath Traveler series. It is a true series now, after all, with two main series games and a mobile prequel. If you missed the 2023 sequel in all the Tears of the Kingdom hype, check out our Octopath Traveler 2 review for the details.
The Octopath Traveler anniversary stream is set for July 13 at 07:00 ET / 04:00 AM PT, so you’re going to have to get up pretty early for this one. As ever, we’re expecting the stream to be in Japanese, but with previous events, there have been English-language captions. If you want to tune in, keep an eye on the Square Enix Japan Youtube channel for a link closer to the time.
If you were to ask us what we really want from the presentation, it’s Octopath Traveler 3, but we don’t expect that so soon after the second game’s release. Still, if there’s some possibility of DLC for Octopath Traveler 2, there are no complaints here. Give us more epic quests across fantasy lands, please.
There you have it, the news that an Octopath Traveler stream is set for next month.
