Is Super Mario Galaxy 2 included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars?
Super Mario 3D All-Stars does not include Super Mario Galaxy 2. The Switch collection features enhanced ports of the titles Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. It did not launch with Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the cart, so it is very unlikely Nintendo will ever update 3D All-Stars to feature it.
Can I play Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Switch?
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is not currently available on Switch. The three titles from Super Mario 3D All-Stars are not available on the Nintendo Switch eShop, and neither is Super Mario Galaxy 2. So right now, if you cannot find a physical version of the now-discontinued Super Mario 3D All-Stars, there’s no way to play Super Mario Sunshine or Super Mario Galaxy on Nintendo Switch.
Super Mario 64 is available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online N64 games, but there’s currently no similar service for Nintendo GameCube or Nintendo Wii titles. So, Super Mario Galaxy 2 Switch is just a dream for now, as the title isn’t available in any collection, service, or individual release.
Will Super Mario Galaxy 2 come to Switch?
There are currently no public plans to bring Super Mario Galaxy 2 to Switch. However, Nintendo is slowly rolling out classic titles to the Nintendo Switch through the expansion of the Nintendo Switch Online service. Plus, The Super Mario Bros Movie launches in 2023, and it seems financially sensible to give consumers access to a classic library of Mario titles to coincide with its release. Mario’s the talk of the town in 2023, so Nintendo letting Switch owners experience his best adventures makes sense to us. But, we won’t get excited until Nintendo announces anything official.
