In a series first, Link gets involved with politics. No, he’s not running to be the president of Hyrule (yet), he gets caught up with the question of who to vote for – Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom team Cece or team Reede? The Upheaval brought fear to most of Hyrule, but Hateno Village has its own set of problems brewing in its quiet streets.

Let’s answer the question on everyone’s lips – should you choose team Cece or team Reede in Tears of the Kingdom?
Should I pick Cece or Reede in Tears of the Kingdom?
As Link appears in Hateno Village to survey his old house and do some shopping, you wander into a quest titled ‘Team Cece or Team Reede’. You can start this by talking to Sophie outside the clothing store. She fills you in on the political panic swooping over the village between current mayor Reede and new fashionista Cece. All those mushrooms around the place? They’re her doing.
Head inside the shop and speak to Cece. She chats with you for a bit, then asks who you vote for. The options are a Cece voter, a Reede voter, or undecided. Choosing these options yields different results – but don’t worry, you don’t miss anything by choosing one or the other.
Choosing ‘Cece voter’ forwards the story and starts Cece’s quest that unlocks the shopping aspect of her store, as the shelves are bare when you first enter. If you choose to say you’re a Reede voter, Cece gets quite angry and asks you to leave, even asking Sophie to kick you out – who, of course, doesn’t do that. Cece then asks you again.
If you choose the undecided option, you also repeat the interaction. Basically, choose to say you’re a Cece voter, or you won’t start the next quest and will be stuck in a repetitive cycle of being asked your political preference. Ah, the illusion of choice.
And there you have it – choosing Cece or Reede in Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t really affect anything.
