Alright, you land-lubbers – it’s time to take to the briny sea once more in the second post-release Dredge update. Hailed as one of the best indie games in the last year, Dredge caught us hook, line, and sinker, and no doubt it’ll snag you too.
The critically acclaimed debut of Black Salt Games receives an update filled with a whole shoal of new aberration fish to catch, wildlife encounters, a new character, and much more lurking in the depths.
The free update introduces passive mode for players who just want to sail about and fish, without being terror-ray-sed (I can’t take credit for this pun) by gigantic flaming angler fish or other spooky sea dwellers. Float around safely and fish to your heart’s content in this new mode.
Whale you’re there, observe the natural phenomena including pods of orcas, alligators, whale sharks, and maybe a never-before-seen monster. Don’t get too close, just in case.
You artistic souls are in luck, too, with the long-awaited photo mode now in the game. Take some stunning shots of breaching whales, or fearsome creatures about to bite your boat. It’s not all just said and done, though, you need to find a specific item to trade with the newly landed photographer before you start snapping away.
If you’re thinking about dipping your toe into the game, read our Dredge review for a deeper look. Here are more Switch games that we recommend – these ocean games and fishing games are filled with nautical nonsense.
