What is Pokémon Go’s Ursaluna?
Ursaluna is known as the peat Pokémon and is the final evolution of Teddiursa. It first appeared in the Hisui region in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and has recently started to appear in Pokémon Go. It’s a ground- and normal-type Pokémon.
Unlike its previous evolution Ursaring, Ursaluna stands on all fours, and its back and paws are covered in peat, a type of mud. It has a large yellow circle on its forehead that resembles a full moon covered by two clouds.
Its Pokédex description reads: “I believe it was Hisui’s swampy terrain that gave Ursaluna its burly physique and newfound capacity to manipulate peat at will.”
How do I get Pokémon Go’s Ursaluna?
You can get an Ursaluna in Pokémon Go through evolution. To evolve a Teddiursa into an Ursaluna, you first need to evolve it into Ursaring using 50 Teddiursa candies. Then, to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna, you need to use 100 Teddiursa candies on a night with a full moon.
Just like Pokémon Go Eevee evolution methods where you can evolve into Espeon during the day and Umbreon at night, Ursaluna’s evolution relies on real-world lunar cycles to work. There’s a full moon every 28 days or so, so it’s not too rare. The next full moon is on August 30, 2023 but if you miss that one, it will also appear on September 29.
Does Pokémon Go’s Ursaluna spawn in the wild?
Sadly no, Ursaluna does not spawn in the wild. You can only get one by evolving an Ursaring.
What is Pokémon Go Ursaluna’s best moveset?
Despite being big and bulky, Ursaluna is not very competitively viable in Pokémon Go. That being said, it still has some good moves that you can use to fight gyms, take part in raids, and defeat Pokémon Go’s Giovanni, Pokémon Go’s Arlo, Pokémon Go’s Cliff, or Pokémon Go’s Sierra.
Ursaluna’s best moveset is:
- Tackle (Fast attack)
- Thunder Punch (Charged attack)
- High Horsepower (Charged attack)
High Horsepower is particularly effective as it benefits from STAB (same type attack bonus) but you can only get High Horsepower for your Ursaluna by evolving it during a Teddiursa community day.
How do I counter Pokémon Go’s Ursaluna?
As a ground- and normal-type Pokémon, Ursaluna is 1.6x weak to fighting, water, grass, and ice attacks. For the best results, use these attacks when going up against an Ursaluna to come out on top.
